Sweepstakes Points....
What are they? How are they figured?
Good question- and Myron asked me to write a bit of an explanation. I am
currently recording sweepstakes points for ISRBA- every time you show
a rabbit in an ISRBA sanctioned show you receive sweepstakes "points"
for your placements. These points are used to give annual awards at the
ISRBA Stave Convention in Des Moines. Points are tracked only for ISRBA
members- I do not track points for non members. After each show that
show secretary fills out forms which report each exhibitor's name, the
breed exhibited and how many points they received for that breed at the
show.
Points awarded are:
1st place= 6 x the number of animals in that class
2nd place= 4x the number of animals in that class
3rd place= 3x the number of animals in that class
4th place= 2x the number of animals in that class
5th place= 1x the number of animals in that class
In addition the Best of Breed winner receives 1 bonus point for each
animal shown in that breed. Points are awarded in the same manner for
single fryers, meat pens and fur, but there are no BOB or BOS bonus
points. Best in show, Best Six Class, and Best Four Class points are also
tracked- and are simply the number of animals in the show, six class, or
four class (these points do NOT add to your breed points).
I plan to have current Sweepstakes spreadsheets available at the entry
desk at each show sanctioned by ISRBA so you may check your points
at any time. Hawkeye News only has room to print totals, the spreadsheets
are too large to publish. If you have questions any time during the year on
how your points are figured, your current status, or if you feel there is an
error in your points feel free to contact me.
